Success – a Business and Consulting Services WordPress Theme

We’re delighted to launch our latest WordPress theme called ‘Success’ – a beautiful WordPress theme targeted at financial, business and professional services companies.

We worked really hard at creating a vibrant color palette so your firm will have a striking look – with, or without photographs. With clean typography and subtle animations, we didn’t go over the top but wanted to convey a professional presence you’ll be very proud to show off to clients and customers alike.

We’ve discussed the layout and design with real businesses in the sector, collecting their feedback to create a look and feel with accurately reflects a real business – there is no dummy text or poorly written English.

With a one-click installer you’ll be up and running within minutes with everything set up for you just like the demo site. With WooCommerce support, RTL (right-to-left languages) and the WPML plugin we’ve left no stone unturned.

So browse through our demo site and buy Success today on Themeforest for only $59. With world-class support we’re always on hand to assist with any questions you might have.

What we’ve been up to – plus WordCamp 2016

Phew, it’s been a busy 2016 – so much so that our blog has tended to get neglected. That’s all set to change in the next few months with an exciting new project due to launch but mum’s the word until then. Here’s a round up of what’s been happening over the last 6 months.

November 2015

We built the incredibly popular business and finance theme, Broker – the response from customers has been just overwhelming positive, we’re thrilled to have helped so many small firms. Check out the demo or purchase Broker on Themeforest for only $59.

February 2016

We followed up Broker with the release of our industrial theme, Factory. We wanted to target a different niche and with stunning typography and a bold color scheme, it became an instant best seller. Check out the demo or purchase Factory on Themeforest.

June 2016

Just in time for Summer, we released Fintech – a theme for startups or any professional service business who want a super-sharp look. Check out the demo or purchase Fintech on Themeforest.

WordCamp 2016 in Vienna, Austria

We’re so excited about going to our second WordCamp after the fantastic experience we had in Seville last year. There’s another stellar line up of speakers and we can’t wait to meet up with fellow WordPress bloggers and developers from all over the world.

We’ll be gone from Thursday 23rd June until Sunday 26th June. Normal service with theme support will resume on Monday, the 27th.

If you’re there be sure to get in touch through either of our twitter handles, @simontomkins and @colmtroy or through the company account, @commercegurus

WooCommerce 2.2 Feature – Automatic Refunds

The latest version of WooCommerce, version 2.2 mostly changed things under the hood – feature-wise there wasn’t a whole lot added. One interesting new addition though is the option to provide automatic refunds.

Patrick Rauland, a developer who works on WooCommerce explains how it works here:

WordPress 4.0 is released. Captiva customers are ok to update

WordPress 4.0 was released a short while ago. After extensive testing on our development servers we’re glad to be able to confirm that CommerceGurus customers who have purchased our Captiva WooCommerce theme can safely upgrade to WordPress 4.0.

WordPress 4.0 ‘Benny’ (named after the king of swing Benny Goodman) hits the streets today after 6 months of intensive development. Many feel it’s an underwhelming release. I disagree. I think it’s clearly a very focused release in terms of new feature additions. Sarah over at the tavern does a great job introducing the new stuff.

For me, the improvements to the page/post editing UI are stellar. For years now it’s been a real pain in the ass to write long form posts in the WordPress editor when the scrollbar would disappear out of sight and then you would play a game of cat and mouse to try and bring it back into view without losing the inner scroll in your content area. Well now that’s a thing in the past thankfully.

The level of polish added to the user experience of the media library is also stunning.

There’s always a big concern for theme and plugin developers that their work will break with a major new WordPress release. We spent a lot of time today giving Captiva and all it’s dependencies like WooCommerce, Visual Composer etc. a serious test on 4.0. I’m glad to report everything is working correctly. If you spot any issues be sure to contact us on

So get updating and enjoy Benny!
