Troubleshooting

CommerceGurus Turbo is designed to work out of the box with the vast majority of WooCommerce stores. But with the huge variety of themes and plugins in the WordPress ecosystem, you may occasionally need to fine-tune things.

Quick diagnosis

The fastest way to identify whether CommerceGurus Turbo is causing an issue is to disable its optimizations on the affected page using URL parameters:

• ?cgturbooff – disables all CommerceGurus Turbo optimizations
• ?cgturbojsoff – disables JavaScript optimization only
• ?cgturbocssoff – disables CSS optimization only
• ?cgturbopreloadoff – disables Preload module only
• ?cgturbonocache – bypasses page and edge caching
• ?cgturbopagecacheoff – bypasses page caching only
• ?cgturboedgecacheoff – bypasses edge caching only

Simply add the parameter to the end of the page URL. If the issue disappears, you’ve pinpointed the module responsible – and can adjust its settings accordingly.

Skip logged-in users

Navigate to WooCommerce > CG Turbo > Settings > General and enable Skip logged-in users. When enabled, logged-in administrators see the unoptimized version of the site while visitors get the full optimized experience.

This is really useful when you’re making changes and want to compare before and after.

Activity log

The Activity page in CommerceGurus Turbo shows a log of cache events – purges, warming operations, rule syncs, and errors. Check here if caching isn’t behaving as expected.

Common issues

This guide covers how to quickly diagnose and resolve common issues.

Layout is broken or styles are missing

1. Clear the CSS cache from the CommerceGurus Turbo admin bar dropdown.
2. Revisit the page to regenerate the Used CSS.
3. If the issue persists, exclude the page from CSS optimization using the per-page meta box in the editor.

JavaScript isn’t working (forms, sliders, add-to-cart)

1. Add ?cgturbojsoff to the URL to confirm it’s a JS optimization issue.
2. If you’re using Delay JS in All mode, switch to Curated mode. This resolves most problems as it automatically excludes WooCommerce, payment, and form scripts.
3. Identify the script causing the issue and add it to the Delay JS exclusions list.

Images not loading

1. Check the Leading images count in the Lazy Load settings. If your hero image isn’t loading, increase this number.
2. If specific images aren’t loading, add their container’s CSS selector to the Container exclusions list. That should resolve it.
3. Add `no-lazy` as a CSS class to any individual image element you want to exclude.

Cache not working

1. Check that the Page Cache module is enabled on the Modules page.
2. If using PHP drop-in serve mode, you should verify that `WP_CACHE` is defined as `true` in your `wp-config.php`.
3. Check for conflicting caching plugins – only one caching plugin should be active.
4. Visit the Status page in CommerceGurus Turbo for diagnostics.

Edge cache not syncing

1. Verify your Cloudflare API token has the correct permissions (Cache Purge, Zone Read, Zone Settings Edit).
2. Check the sync status on the Edge Cache page for error messages.
3. Try disconnecting and reconnecting your Cloudflare account.

Import / Export settings

You can export your CommerceGurus Turbo settings as a JSON file within a couple of seconds from Settings > Import / Export. This is useful for:

• Migrating settings from a staging site to production
• Backing up your configuration before making changes
• Sharing settings across multiple sites

To import, upload a previously exported JSON file from the same page.
