This guide covers how to install our CommerceKit plugin: the all-in-one conversion tool for your WooCommerce store.
If you purchased CommerceKit as part of the Shoptimizer theme you do not need to install CommerceKit separately. It comes bundled with Shoptimizer and is managed via Appearance → Install Plugins. See the Shoptimizer install guide for more details.
Requirements
Before installing, make sure your site meets the following requirements:
- WordPress 5.8 or higher (self-hosted, not WordPress.com)
- WooCommerce 6.0 or higher, installed and active
- PHP 7.4 or higher
Step 1 — Download CommerceKit
- Log in to your CommerceGurus Account.
- Locate the CommerceKit under your Orders.
- Click Download to save the .zip file to your computer.
Step 2 — Upload and activate
- In your WordPress admin, go to
Plugins → Add New Plugin. - Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
- Click Choose File, select the commercegurus-commercekit.zip file you downloaded, then click Install Now.
- Once the upload is complete, click Activate Plugin.
CommerceKit is now installed. A CommerceKit menu item will appear in your WordPress admin sidebar.
Step 3 — Connect your domain
To enable one-click updates in WordPress, connect your domain to your commercegurus.com account. This is a one-time step.
See Updating CommerceKit for instructions.
Step 4 — Configure your modules
Go to CommerceKit in your WordPress admin. Each module has its own settings tab. Enable the modules you want to use and configure them to suit your store.
Troubleshooting
The plugin upload fails with a “destination folder already exists” error
This usually means CommerceKit is already installed. Go to Plugins and check whether it appears in your plugin list. If it does, you can update it from there rather than uploading again.
CommerceKit settings are not visible after activation
Ensure WooCommerce is installed and active. CommerceKit requires WooCommerce and will not fully initialise without it.
